Happy 4th of JulyJust wanted to to make a quick entry and wish everyone a Happy 4th of July. Our plans is to go to our local parade, gotta love a parade. Come home and cook on the grill and some old friends from Ky is coming over, so a fun time should be have by all. I did decorate a little bit for the 4th. Love the 4th of July. Actually this is last years decorations, This years looks just like it execpt the steps are the ugly steps. its been raining here so much I couldn't get a good picture. As you can see I am very proud of this country we live in. I have been to a third world country and believe you me we have it made here in the USA. God Bless America.
Wanted to also tell you Benji's fur has grown back out and he looks like the little dog I rescued!!! You pick which Benji do you like, Poodle Benji or grown out Benji, I know you all know which I like. LOL
Also, wanted to tell my friend Caroldee I did get the back porch painted finally. I had to put two coats of paint on the floor. It should last for two years. (I Hope) Here is a picture of my hard work. I picked the most humid day of the year to do it
Ok, I will quit, hope everyone is well, will try to catch up with all of you this week. Take care my dear friends and have a great 4TH>
As Ever,
Pat UpdatesOk, first I want to tell you about my second job. Both the owners came into my office and shut the door, I looked at them both and said:"whats up?" They made me an offer. I work for one 6 months and the other 6 months. I won't be laid off when the RV business dies in October. I just scoot through the door to the ATV business!! They also gave me a sizeable raise. I could not believe it!!! So I guess hard work does pay off!!! Now if working for both doesn't kill me I should do Ok, especially with the price of gas!!! The best part is I don't have to draw low earnings!! I hated that.
Lawn Mower update. Still not working, LOL Got the new deck, needed more parts, is fixable, the repair man said I could use it but make sure I keep a close eye on the oil, it needs a new gasket. I asked him when could he fix it, because knowing me I will forget to check the oil and do it in completely!! Not. I hate pushing . He said he could not get to me until winter, he was covered up!! So, if hubby ever gets all the new screws and bolts i should be able to cut in a week. $75.00 for parts don't know what the labor will be???
Speaking of expensive parts, I pulled the hood open thing on my caddy to check the oil and broke the PLASTIC handle and called the local dealership to order the part. Are you ready for this that little plastic handle cost $55.64!!! Still cheaper than a car payment right?
One of my blog friends has been painting her back porch and the pictures she showed it looks so good. I need to do my back porch also!! I have had the paint for over a month and a half but there is a reason for it not being done. You see this bird built a nest in the corner near the roof and I didn't have the heart to aggrivate her, so I let her sit on her eggs and they hatched and grew and today they flew away, so no more putting it off. Here is their picture, so you know I'm telling the truth. LOL
Hayden got his first hair cut. His hair was hanging in his eyes and his Mom had an appointment to get his picture taken, so she had my son to cut it. My Mom was upset she said you do not cut their hair until they are a year old? Here is a picture not the best shot because he kept moving on me of his haircut.
We have had a lot of thunder storms for over two weeks now. It rains everyday about the time I get off work and my flowers need my attention but it is always raining. I guess I should not complain I will be wishing for it in July!
Not much exciting happening here , hope you all have a great week.
As Ever,
Pat
Graduation Day, Fathers Day & Other Tid BitsOk, Hoot Hoot Son, graduated from LPN school on Saturday. Now, he has a third profession under his belt!!! Truthlfully , I am so proud, because it was a hard course , he took a Two year program and did it in eleven months!!! That in itself is an accompolisment. He will be the first to tell you he could not have done it without the support of his friend and family. But he made it. Now, he has to take and pass the state boards, which he will be doing soon. Yesterday he went job hunting already. He can work on his certificate for two months, I think he is ready to go back to work and start making a living for himself. Here are a couple of pictures of him giving the class speech and accepting his certificate. Also, one of his Mom, sister, and Grandmother who were so proud!!! Congratulations again John. Mom loves you.
Fathers Day was great for hubby, he really enjoyed having all the family and friends around for the day. Son, had a party after graduation and he brought all the left over food over for dinner, which was great meaning I didn't have to cook either!! LOL So we ate and ate and enjoyed one another's company. He had a good day.
On last Friday we had a bad thunder storm come through and did some damage in our little neighborhood. There were some strong winds and one of our neighbors his utility pole fell over pulling wires and all down. No one had electricity. The electric company came out and cut his wires loose and the rest of us had power. Well, the neighbor that had no electric is sick and didn't know what he was going to do. It was so hot, so hubby ran extension cords so he could have at least a light and hooked up his freezer and refridge so he would not loose his food. Hubby did not stop there, the next day he and the neighbor went and got all the stuff he needed to get his electric back. Hubby worked two days, yes even on Fathers Day to get this man's power back on. He sat a new pole, new electrical boxes, and wired it up for him and Sunday night they had power back on. Just wanted to brag a little bit about hubby, he's a good man he would give his shirt off his back if you needed it. It also helped he was an electrican also. !!!
Well, I was leaving Mom's last night and the neighbor who hubby helped handed me this card. I though well its a thank you note in it for hubby, so I didn't open it until I got home and yes it was a thank-you note but they had put money in it for hubby's work he had done. Hubby walked right over there and gave it back and said to them friends don't charge friends and neighbors help one another out. Hubby and I were raised about the same way, if you can't help someone without expecting something in return, don't do it. But did I tell you I am so proud of this man I am married to?? LOL I know Kat I know, Like a good neighbor hubby is there. LOL
We were lucky no damage, just broken limbs off a few trees, only Friday the 13th did hit us pretty good. Before the storm came up I got out the riding mower to cut the front yard and it blew up, now whats sad about this hubby had just picked up a new deck for it that day at the price of $300.00 no blades or belts just the deck!!! Now I have a new deck no engine!!! Hubby is going to try and work on it today to see if it truely is blown up!! Keep your fingers crossed that he can fix it, as tough as this old gal is I can't do the push mower thing, it just about kills me. It's too much yard for me to weed -eat!! LOL If it can't be fixed I am just going to have to bite the bullit and buy another one. UGH.
Oh, I almost forgot, I've got another job , I know you are saying are you crazy??? Well, where I work here at the RV shop, attached to our building is an ATV shop and a Bass Pro shop. The ATV store lost their DMV person and they asked me to take it, so after a talk with RV boss its ok to help them and make me some extra money!!(New Lawn Mower) so I've been really busy trying to do my work here and catch their work up too. It works out good, because I get laid off about the last of October and I can continue to work for these people through December!! I just hope I can handle both, time will tell and if it turns out to be too much I will quit.
Ok, can't end this blog with not saying something about Hayden!!! He is precious and he is developing a little personality . He is so special to us. I bought him a little kiddie pool, have not had a chance to put him in it yet but I will.
Ok, enough tid bits and to those friends of mine I did not get around to wish a Happy Fathers Day too, I hope you had a great one. Now, I'm going to see what the rest of you are into. Need to add this , when I came home from work this afternoon my grass was cut and I thought hubby had lawn mower fixed my neighbor cut it for me, the one hubby repaired electric for. So I guess what goes around comes around. Thanks Neil and Dianne.
As Ever,
Pat Checking InHello dear friends, thought I better check in and let you know what this old woman has been into.
First of all , I'm glad to say the RV business has picked up even though gasoline is $4.09 a gallon and diesel is $4.89 a gallon. So I have been busy selling campers during the day, all the involved paper work plus my bookkeeping duties here. Then I go home and take care of Hayden until his Mommy gets off work. Thats what I do Monday through Friday.
If Hayden is taking a nap I water all those flowers I planted, but for the last two days we have had lots and lots of rain, bad storms, a lot of my friends are flooded. One of my co-workers could not get out he was flooded in. You would think living in WV we would be high enough for it not to flood. These folks live along the Ohio River and it just comes out of its banks. We lost power for about three hours last night, but I had no wind damage like some of my friends. Thank you Lord.
Hayden is growing up so fast , he can almost crawl now and he is sporting two more new teeth, which makes him a grand total of 4!! Here is a picture of his last two!! He is rotten!!! Also, he is now eating baby food, he does pretty good, I just had to get back into the hang of things liking when he moves not to shove it up his nose, poor little guy, but we are good now. He loves it.
With diesel fuel being so high, which hubby has a diesel truck, he went and put a new rear tire on his motorcycle, so that is his mode of transportation which doesn't bother him he loves riding that thing. I am still gathering pictures of our motorcycle trip to Wyoming and I came across one of me standing at a gas station and the price was .98 a gallon. Ok, so it was in 1988, but hey I wish it was that price again. I will do that blog for you , now that was a trip. I don't think I've taken a trip with him since.
Benji is doing pretty good, he lays around a lot, I've yet to get him to the vet to have him checked out, but that is on my list for next week. He will not eat dog food. I have tried it all, I don't know if his previous owner just fed him scraps or what, I try to hold out on him to eat his dog food, but then You know me, poor little guy and I give him cheese, part of my dinner etc. I know that is not good for him, but I don't know what else to do. Hopefully my vet can help me here with this? Oh and his fur is finally growing out thank God!! From here on out I will be cutting Benji. LOL
Hubby got our garden in, I know we are late, but it has rained so much, the only thing I did to help was plant Marigolds around his tomato plants to keep the bugs off! Now the deer is something else!! We did this last year when the deer got into our green beans, we cut up Irish Spring soap and spread it around and it worked they left our garden alone. So there is a little tid bit if you have deer problems. My neighbor has a deer that comes and takes an apple out of his hand every evening. I told him you are fatten him up for some hunter this fall!!! Our county is over run with deer. Me personally have hit and killed three with my automobile. All the hunters want to ride with me. LOL
A few of my blog friends are having health issues. My little friend Sarah's Mom is getting ready to go through Chemo and Radation my friend Collen who is in pain all the time, My best bud kat is having a hard time too & Jenna has a lot of health issues and my Friend Al, who has MS was hospitalized yesterday and any extra prayers you have please send them up for these good folks. It is so strange how we get attached to our blog friends, we have never met, or even spoke on the phone(execpt for Jenna) and their hopes, dreams, fears, sickness becomes ours!!! Friends, sick or well I enjoy all of you and I cherish the friendship we have established over the past year. If I lived close to any of you and you called me for help I would come running. I am truly blessed for having all of you in my life.
I don't know if I told you or not , but my arm had been bothering me a lot, well lets say since January,so waiting until I could not stand it anymore I went and checked on it. He said it could be many things, arthritis, pinch nerve, tendernatisis (can't spell that word)??? So he gave me a shot of cortizone and a prescription. I filled the prescription read the warnings and threw it in the trash!!! Why would I want to take a chance on having a stroke , heart attack, bleeding ulcer and on and on. These warnings were in BIG BOLD PRINT. The shot has helped at least I can reach behind me now with out yelling out in pain. Like I said before getting old is not for whimps!!!! So, I'm sucking it up and doing the best I can. He also told me not to lift anything over 5 pounds, yeah like that is going to happen!
UPDATE:: Neighbor stopped by and ask if that little poodle was mine and I said yes and he said well you are going to be a grandmother??? What I asked. I let him out in the mornings to do his business and he comes right back execpttttttttt for one morning last week!!! Seems he had an affair with a pekingese on the hill!!! I thought sure this guy was going to ask me for puppy support, but he said he just wanted to check Benji out to see what kind of puppies his dog would have???? What would you call them Pekanoodle??? Will let you know how this unfolds!!!! Wonder if thats why he has not been eating, he's in love??? I hate it that there are going to be mix puppies. so guess whos going to be fixed!!!! I will talk to that guy again to make sure no harm comes to the puppies, even If I have to find them a home. I didn't even know there was a pekingese on the hill. I feel so bad.
Other than that I'm doing great, I may not blog very much but I do try and catch each and everyone of you to see how you are doing. Take care my friends.
As Ever, Pat
Weekly PostI've decided to try and post at least once a week so you know I'm not slacking and trying to stay in touch. When things are slow at work, I try to stop by and check on all of you. With these gas prices the sales of RV's will be slow. Friday I had three different people call me to get the value of their RV's so they could sell them! Isn't that sad?
Ok, I worked Monday through Friday, came home and watched my sweet Hayden until 11:00 . The evenings I did not have Hayden I worked on my flowers and yard. Here is some of the flowers I did. To tell you about this one rock flower bed, those rocks I bought back off the mountains where my hubby use to have to go and check and upkeep radio antennas on some of the tallest mountains in West Virginia. It took me a few years to get them collected.
On friday night my grandson graduated from high school and here are a few pictures showing him and his proud grandparents and his sister and my sweet Hayden and his adopted brother.
Now the next pictures are of my oldest daughter's rose bush and I wanted to share it with my photography blogging Friends.
The next set of pictures is for my dear friend Al, who I promised I would do. Al, the flower pot has three flags one is for my Dad, one is for my husband and the third is for you.
Ok enough pictures, today was a good Sunday, I watched hubby work on his motorcycle, visited with my Mom and my neighbor. The neighbor is the one who sprained both of her ankles and she is walking again. She said they still hurt but she is thankful she can walk again!! I filled all my bird feeders, brushed Benji out, just did little things today. I was so hoping I would have tomorrow off, I wanted to paint my back porch, but I'm filling in for one of the guys, he still has small children and they have a pinic to go to so I told him I would cover for him. Maybe I will sell a camper or two sure hope so!!
I think that wraps up my week and a new one starts tomorrow. Hope I did not bore you to death, not very exciting here. Just day to day living.
Have a wonderful week.
Pat
